MUXIC Promotes Economic Growth through Music Events

The Musical Tourism Office of Mexico, MUXIC, has been internationally recognized with two nominations at the prestigious Music Cities Awards. This innovative project, supported by the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico City since 2021, has distinguished itself as an initiative that uses music as a driver of economic, social, environmental, and cultural development. MUXIC has facilitated the creation of economic opportunities and key partnerships in the music and tourism industry of the city.

Renee Mooi, director and artistic ambassador of MUXIC, has been fundamental in creating strategic partnerships globally that promote cultural exchange and collaborations, reinforcing Mexico's cultural identity abroad. Thanks to her over 15 years of experience in the music industry, Mooi has turned MUXIC into a convergence point for emerging talents, entrepreneurs, and industry agents.

Among MUXIC's innovative projects are musical sessions held at iconic locations in Mexico City, where national and international artists collaborate to connect global audiences. One of the most notable collaborations was between Silvana Estrada and Aurora in Chapultepec Forest, which succeeded in amplifying the presence of Mexican music worldwide.

These actions have positioned Mexican talent and the capital on the international scene in just a few years. MUXIC's nominations for the Music Cities Awards as "Best Musical Tourism Initiative (Global)" and "Best Organization Supporting Talent in its City" highlight the outstanding work of this project, placing Mexico City for the first time in a global conversation alongside the world's most influential cities in music and culture.

The Music Cities Awards 2024 ceremony will take place on December 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of the Music Cities Convention, a global forum that celebrates the power of music to transform cities and communities.
